Helping self-employed physicians master their taxes with knowledge, clarity, and agency

You’ve committed your life to helping others.

You deserve a tax advisor who:

  • Is fast and responsive.

  • Proactively recommends strategies to reduce your tax liability.

  • Treats your taxes just like their own.

  • Helps you understand the numbers in the tax return and what they mean.

  • Offers transparent pricing.

  • Focuses on your long-term tax burden, not just getting the largest tax deductions for the current year.

  • Avoids jargon.

  • Thinks outside the box, but doesn’t recommend dubious tax strategies that are more likely to get you in trouble.

  • Is available to answer your questions about all things tax.

What Our Clients Say

  • Logan is thorough, explains things well and this service provides so much more than required or expected! We appreciate the attention to detail, the patience and the amazing follow up!

    — Markie & Sterling, TaxSmart MD Clients

  • This service has helped me make sense out of the confusing mess that is a dual-physician household, with a mixed employed/private practice (across multiple states) situation. Logan does an excellent job delineating factors that matter more with tax savings, whether or not certain elements are worth the time to pursue, and meeting regularly (with PowerPoints for visual guidance) to keep things on track. He's also incredibly responsive and great with follow-up and follow-through. Can't recommend him enough, hands down the best accountant we've worked with. The additional perspective he brings as a physician is additionally invaluable.

    — Brian & Lindsay, TaxSmart MD Clients

  • Logan is an incredibly talented tax expert who understands the nuances of physicians, student loans, and complex tax situations. I always learn so much from him in a non-judgemental way and get so much out of our conversation. He is well worth the value we pay him and I could not recommend him more! Even my wife who has not been as interested in this part of our finances finds our conversations helpful and engaging.

Why Work with Me?

DOCTOR OF MEDICINE

I no longer practice medicine, but the high tax burden shouldered by physicians was part of my lived experience for more than a decade. I quickly discovered how important it was to understand how our tax system works; This was integral to achieving my financial goals (including stepping away from medicine).

ENROLLED AGENT

Enrolled agents must pass a three-part Special Enrollment Examination, a qualification held by only about 8% of tax preparers in the United States. They are admitted to practice before the IRS and can represent taxpayers in any matter.

I decided to pursue this designation because I knew that self-directed learning is useful, but that it could only take me so far. I also think that service professionals should be able to demonstrate not only value, but also knowledge, expertise, and their professional commitment to clients. It’s probably ingrained from my medical training!

NOT YOUR TYPICAL TAX PROFESSIONAL

My overarching passion is for personal finance and helping doctors achieve financial independence. I have a rich understanding of how well taxes intertwine with a physician’s broader financial priorities and values. I do not make specific investment recommendations, but I am happy to suggest the most tax-efficient vehicles for investing and saving for retirement. I am also happy to collaborate with your financial planner to make sure we are aligned on your goals and strategy.
